If two IP addresses are listed, two controllers are installed in the array. If one IP address is
listed, only one controller is installed in the array OR two controllers are installed, but only one
of the controllers is accessible from the host on which the tool is running.
This field is interactive:

Click the IP address to access the Storage Management Utility (SMU) of that array.

Collection Count—Number of performance collections obtained for that array

Collection Disk Usage—Total disk usage of the collections for that array

Collecting performance data

The Schedule tab is used to create a collection of performance data for an array. Once initiated,
a collection will continue obtaining data until manually stopped. Parameters for creating a collection
are at the top of the page and a list of all currently-running collections is displayed at the bottom
of the page.

To create a collection:
1.

Enter the parameters and then click Submit to automatically begin collecting data.

2.

When ready to generate graphs on the collected data, close out the collection by selecting
the collection from the list and then clicking Stop.

The following actions can be performed in the Schedule tab:

To create a schedule and initiate gathering performance data for the selected array, assign
a name and description to the collection, specify how often to gather the data, and then click
Submit. Before the run begins, a confirmation prompt is displayed. If the Submit button is
disabled, the tool cannot access the array. Possible reasons why the tool cannot access the
array include an unknown password or incompatible array firmware. For more information
and recommended actions, locate that array on the Arrays tab.

To reset the parameter fields, click Clear.

To update the display, click Refresh.

To stop collecting data so that the information can be graphed, select the check box associated
with the collection, and then click Stop.

The following parameters can be changed in the Schedule tab:

Collection Name—User defined name for the collection

Collection Description—Expanded field to enter a description of the collection

Sample Rate—How often to gather performance information. Enter a number and then,
in the drop-down menu, select from Minutes or Hours. (The default is to Run Every 2
minutes.)
