Error Messages on the Camera
Message Possible cause Solution
BATTERY
DEPLETED.
Battery power is
too low to
continue
operation.
Replace or recharge the
battery, or use the HP AC
power adapter.
Battery too low to
take a picture
or
Battery too low to
record a video.
Battery power is
too low to take a
still picture or
video.
Buy a new battery.
Battery cannot be
charged
An error or AC
power disruption
occurred during
charging, you
are using the
wrong AC power
adapter, the
battery is
defective, or no
battery is
installed.
Retry charging the battery
a couple of times. If that
fails, buy a new battery
(see page 176).
Battery is
defective.
Battery is shorted
or severely
overdischarged.
Buy a new battery (see
page 176).
Battery is non-
rechargeable
There is no
battery in the
camera, or the
battery is not
rechargeable.
Verify that there is a
rechargeable battery in
the camera, then retry
charging the battery. If
that fails, buy a new
battery (see page 176).
