NEW MOTOR BRUSHES

MOTOR BRUSH CAPS
To inspect or replace the motor brushes:
1. Remove the seat and body shroud. See V. “Disassembly.”
2. Unscrew the motor brush caps. See figure 15.
3. Remove the brushes.
4. Inspect for wear. See figure 16.
5. Replace the brushes, if necessary. Contact your authorised Pride provider for replacement brushes.
CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE
If the battery indicator gauge does not light up:
n Check the harness connections. Make sure they are tight.
n Check the circuit breaker. Reset it by pushing in the circuit breaker reset button if necessary.
n Check the battery connections.
If the above conditions prove normal, you can load test the batteries with a battery load tester. These testers are
available at automotive parts stores. Disconnect both batteries before load testing and follow the directions that
come with the load tester. If either one of the batteries fails the load test, replace both of them. If your Jazzy still
does not power up, contact your authorised Pride provider.
