Install Intel Device
View

Step1: Choose which version. If you want to
manage from any PC on the network, install the
Web version of Intel Device View. If you manage
from one location, install the Windows version of
Intel Device View.

• To install, place the Intel Device View CD in

the computer’s CD-ROM drive. Select the
Windows* or Web version and follow the on-
screen instructions in the Intel Device View
Installation wizard.

• To run Intel Device View, you must be using

the following versions of software.

Windows 95 or 98

Windows NT* 4.0

Intel Device

Browser Internet Explorer

View (Web)

4.0 or later

Windows NT 4.0,
Windows 95 or 98

• After installing the Windows version of

Device View, the program will automatically
restart (if necessary) and launch the Device
Wizard. Follow the on-screen instructions.

• If you chose the Web version of Device View,

double-click the Intel Device View icon to
run the program. Look under Unconfigured
Devices in the SNMP Device Tree for the
MAC address of the new switch. Or click the
Install Device icon and wait for the MAC
addresses to appear.

• Double-click the MAC address to assign an

IP address. If you add additional switches,
double-click their MAC addresses to
configure them.

Step 3: Assign an IP address. Type the IP
address and subnet mask of the new switch.

Step 2: Find the Device. Double-click the
MAC address of the new switch in the device
tree.
