Indicates the type of disc
that has been inserted
Character indicators
Clock, total playback time, elapsed time, title number,
chapter / track number, channel etc.
TITLE Displays the
current title number.
TRK Displays the
current track number.
CHP Displays the cur-
rent chapter number.
BIL Indicates receipt of a BILINGUAL
TV program.
ST Indicates a
stereo broadcast is
being received.
Shows if a timer recording has been
programmed and / or whether a
timer recording is in progress.
REC Indicates whether
recording is in progress.
HQ, SQ, LQ, EQ
Displays the recording
mode

Passes the
