Low Battery Indicator

Recharge for 12-24 hours. Display

will run for 12+ hours on a charge.
LED changes to green while

charging and does not go out when

battery is charged.

You can run the display with the

charger connected. However if

you experience some instability

of the readings it is probably

caused by electrical ‘noise’ on

the power line.

Simply

disconnect the charger and run

on battery power.

Instructions for Valve Spring Tester

The travel indicator

uses a separate LR44

‘coin’ battery,

installed just under

the SET button.

Travel Indicator:

Move upper plate down to touch the base & Zero travel – push

the red ZERO button. Or you can Zero anywhere along the
travel.

If you Zero when the upper plate just touches the spring it will read the

amount you are compressing the spring. Or you can set the stop on the rack

at the top to duplicate readings.

If you are checking inner and outer

springs you should check them with
the retainer as the inner spring(s) sits

on a step in the retainer and is
compressed more than the outer one.

To make the travel read correctly when using
the retainer put the outer step of the retainer
between the upper and lower plates when
Zeroing the travel indicator.

Spring Pressure

Display:

Zero with no load.
Reads in lbs. (or kgm)

Handle can be
relocated as needed,

depending on the
length of the springs

being tested.

Loosen bolt on collar and

slide entire pinion shaft

and handle out. Reposition

as needed, reinstall collar

and tighten.
