CONNECT AND OPERATE

1. Connect 1 source such as a PC or laptop that has a VGA output to the VGA input on the transmitter

balun.

2. Connect the audio source using a 3.5mm cable into the 3.5mm jack on the transmitter balun.
3. Connect 1 display such as an HDTV or HD Projector that has a VGA input to the VGA output on the

receiver balun (280546 supports dual output and can output video at both transmitter and receiver
baluns).

4. Connect the audio output on the receiver balun to the display device using a 3.5mm cable (280546

supports dual output and can output audio at both transmitter and receiver baluns).

5. Connect a single Category 5e or 6 cable to both transmitter and receiver baluns.
6. For power, plug in the source first, followed by the Receiver and then Transmitter (two 5V DC power

supplies included for 280544, two 12V DC power supplies included for 280546), followed by the output
connected.

7. Power on each device in the same sequence (receiver and transmitter will already be powered when

plugged in).

At this point the display connected should display the source signal connected to the extender set. If no signal
is being displayed, connect a shorter Cat5e/6 cable (less than 15 ft). If no signal is still displaying, adjust the
EQ and GAIN controls (280546 only), if a signal displays with the shorter category cable, the EQ distance will
need to be adjusted to the longer category cable being used. If a display is having difficulty receiving a signal,
access the display’s menu and adjust the resolution (lowest to highest until signal is displayed). A 24 Hz
vertical refresh rate may work better than 60 Hz or higher.
