2. Floppy disk drive connector (34-1 pin FLOPPY)

This connector supports the provided floppy drive ribbon cable. After
connecting one end to the motherboard, connect the other end to the
floppy drive. (Pin 5 is removed to prevent incorrect insertion when
using ribbon cables with pin 5 plug).

3. RAID ATA connector (40-1 pin PRI_RAID)

This connector supports ATA133 devices that you can configure as a
RAID set. Through the onboard Promise

®

PDC20378 controller, you

can configure either a RAID 0, RAID 1, or RAID 0 + 1 set with the
RAID Serial ATA connectors . You can use the RAID feature to set up a
disk array configuration and to support additional IDE devices.

By default, the RAID connector is set as RAID. If you want to use
an independent drive, set the Operation Mode to IDE Mode
under Advanced menu of the BIOS. Refer to “Chapter 4: BIOS
Setup” for details.

The Promise

®

PDC20378 controller does not support ATAPI

devices such as CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, etc.

Refer to section “5.6.2 Promise

®

RAID configurations” for details.
