Combine Grain Tank Set-Up Instructions

for John Deere STS Series Combines

INSTALLING THE ADDITIONAL TANK BRACE
(Required on STS Model 9560, 9660, and 9760 Series
Combines)

NOTE: INSTALL TANK BRACE BEFORE STEP 1 OF GRAIN
TANK INSTALLATION

The addition of the grain tank extensions require the combine to
carry additional weight from increased bushel capacity. For
added strength and stability to the combine tank, install the
enclosed Tank Brace to your John Deere STS Combine as
recommended below.

Step 1:
Remove existing bolt clips and top splice bolt as shown in Figure
One.

Step 2:
Place the tank brace on the combine as shown in Figure Two.

Align the two larger holes and fasten using the 3/8” bolts and
nuts provided. Be sure to tighten the brace securely to the
combine tank.

Step 3:
With the brace secured to the combine tank at the splice bolt
and combine clip locations, drill a 5/16” hole through the combine
tank at each remaining hole in the brace.

Finish fastening the brace to the combine tank using the 5/16”
bolts and nuts provided.
