SMALL DESICCANT

APPLICATION

A disposable cap that provides cable venting, a hydrophobic water barrier
membrane, and indicating desiccant to protect vented RuggedCable

and

instrument electronics from condensation of water vapor.

ABS plastic, HDPE membrane (high density
polyethylene)

18 mm (0.7 in) O.D., 5.3 cm (1.2 in) long

Desiccant

Silica gel, type 4

Particle size

0.5 – 1.0 mm bead

Indicating dye

Cobalt chloride, 0.5%

INSTALLATION

1. If necessary, remove the used desiccant—the gel will look pink or white—from

the cable by grasping the knurled (textured) section of the cable connector in one
hand and the desiccant in the other. Twist in opposite directions to unlock the
desiccant connector from the cable connector.

2. Attach the new desiccant to the cable.

Attaching cables or accessories is a simple matter of mating the Twist-
Lock connectors. This is easy after you've done it once or twice. For

refer to the Operator's Manual located on the software CD.
