O > 107 Normal

Press SELECT:

O > 107=108/1

This allows control line 107 to follow control line 108/1 independent of other factors.

(4)

O > 108/1 Normal

Press SELECT

O > 108/1 Set On

This option holds the control line 108/1 ON internally.
There are three options for the X.21bis V.35, V.36 and RS-530 interface. (1) and (2) as before and :

(3)

O > 107 Normal

Press SELECT

O > 107 Set On

This holds control line 107 ON permanently.

There is no control line 108/1 directly associated with V.35/V.36, so it is held ON internally. This means that
although it is not displayed, the option 108/1 Set On is active with V.35 or V.36 interfaces fitted.

5.6.3 G.703

This is only available with a G.703 interface fitted. This only operates at 64kbps 120ž codirectional data
rate.

5.6.4 Asynchronous Mode

This is only available with X.21bis V.28 interface fitted. For data rates of 19.2kbps, 9.6kbps, 4.8kbps and
2.4kbps, there is an option of selecting Synchronous or Asynchronous working. If one of these rates has
been selected, then further menu items will become available.

Following the control line setting options, the display will scroll to:

O > Sync Mode

Pressing SELECT changes the display to:

O > Async Mode

Async Mode then gives the user further options for setting the signalling rate, and character length.

5.6.5 Signalling Rate

The signalling rate defaults to :

O > Normal Rate

This is termed the basic signalling rate, and in normal use this is sufficient. This rate allows the
asynchronous bit rate to have a tolerance of between -2.5% and +1%. In order to increase the tolerance
range under which the BBM will

operate correctly, press SELECT, giving:

O > Extended Rate

The tolerance range will then be increased to allow the BBM to operate between, -2.5% to +2.3%.
