form of randomly-spaced, brightly-colored pixels
may appear in pictures, particularly in shadows.
To reduce noise at slow shutter speeds, select On
from the noise reduction menu.

Recording Time

Turning noise reduction on more than doubles the amount of time needed to
save pictures to the memory card.

Restrictions on Noise Reduction

Noise reduction can not be used in combination with BSS (

98), Auto

Bracketing (

116), or Continuous settings other than Single (

96).

Confirming Noise Reduction

While noise reduction is in effect, an NR icon ap-
pears in the monitor.
