IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

The following safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance. Please read this section
very carefully!

Of course, it’s not possible for us to anticipate or provide safety rules for every specifi c situation, so we ask you to
apply commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a situation that isn’t described below.

• The shaver is designed for indoor domestic use on human facial hair. It must only be used as described in this

instruction manual; any other application, including professional use, is not permitted.

• Never use the appliance outdoors.

Attention! Never leave the appliance connected to the mains when it is unattended.
When the appliance is switched on, do not put it down or leave it unattended because the
vibrating motion can cause it to move. If you stop using the appliance - even for a short
period - you should switch it off and leave it on a stable, fl at surface from where it cannot
fall or be reached by children.

• This device is not supposed to be used by physically or mentally handicapped people, or persons without experience or

knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a person supervises or guides their use of the device, who is at the
same time responsible for their safety. As for children, supervision is recommended to make sure that they do not play
with the device. This device is not supposed to be used by children under the age of 14, not even with supervision!

• Never use an appliance or accessory that the manufacturer did not supply with or propose for use with the

appliance. The use of such appliances might lead to accidents or irregular function.

• In order to avoid electric shock, never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Never touch the

appliance with wet hands. Never allow the wall socket to become wet. You must have dry hands when
you plug the mains connector into the wall socket and when you unplug it. If any moisture gets inside the
appliance, immediately stop using it and take it to a service engineer for checking or repair.

• Never disconnect the appliance from the mains by pulling on the cable; always hold the plug itself.

• Do not use the appliance in a bathroom or a shower.

• Only use the appliance on dry skin.

• Before cleaning, unplug the power cable from the mains socket and from the shaver itself.

Always unplug the power cable from the mains socket before unplugging the other end
from the appliance. When connecting the appliance to the mains, plug the cable into the
appliance before placing the mains plug in the socket.

• Take particular care not to drop the appliance into a bowl or sink fi lled with water. If the appliance is dropped

into any liquid during charging (or is subjected to high levels of humidity), do not touch it but immediately
unplug it from the mains. It can then be removed from the liquid and taken to an authorised service agent for
checking and repair.

• Do not charge or use the appliance in the presence of explosive or fl ammable gases, vapours, aerosols or

liquids.

• Keep the power cable away from sharp edges and hot surfaces. Never connect the appliance to the mains if

the cable is damaged. A replacement cable can be obtained from an authorised service agent.

• Never store the power cable by winding it round the appliance because this can damage the insulation.

• Do not lengthen or alter the mains cable of the appliance. If you need a longer cable between the appliance

and the wall socket, you should buy a standard extension cord from an electrical dealer. When using an
extension cord, be careful not to create a hazard that you or someone else could trip over.

• Don’t put the appliance near hot objects (e.g. oven, hob, heating appliance etc.) or on any hot surface.

Don’t place the appliance anywhere it could slide down, fall or be knocked off accidentally.

• Avoid using or storing the appliance in places that are exceptionally warm or cold, or where it could suff er

from shaking or vibration. Keep it away from wet or humid environments. The appliance should only be used
and stored in temperatures between +5°C and +40°C.

• Do not use the appliance if any parts are damaged or broken because this could cause an injury.

• If your appliance is damaged or operates in an abnormal way, immediately stop using it and take it to an

authorised service engineer for checking, repair or adjustment.

• Never remove the cover of the appliance.

• Never leave the appliance unattended when charging the battery. Always unplug the appliance from the

mains when leaving the house.
