OPERATION

CONNECTING THE PROPANE TANK

1. Make sure the engine is off and the propane tank valve is closed.

2. Unscrew the connector plug from the propane connector on the engine, then connect the high pressure propane hose

to the propane connector by turning the connector on the hose clockwise.

3. When using a liquid draw tank, connect the “liquid draw” propane hose to tank (right hand threads).

When using a vapor draw or BBQ type tank, connect the “vapor draw” propane hose to the propane tank

(left hand threads).

NOTE: The threads on the high pressure propane hose that connect to the tank are left hand turn.

3. Open the valve on the tank slowly. Opening the valve too quickly could cause a sudden surge of

propane to activate a safety flow limiting device within the tank.

NOTE: Use only a high pressure propane hose. Do not use a hose with a regulator attached.

NOTE: When a new hose from a propane tank is being used, it may take a few seconds for the propane flow

to reach the engine. The engine may start and then die, or not start immediately. Extra pulls of the

starter are usually necessary for the flow to reach the engine, or follow the procedure in the quick

start guide for priming the propane system.
