LABEL DESCRIPTION
IP Address
Enter the IP address of a LAN device in doted decimal notation. For example, 10.59.1.111.
Server Port
Enter the port number for a service (for example, 80 for HTTP) on the LAN device.
Virtual Port
Enter a unique port number between 9601 and 9650 to map to the port number in the Server Port field.
Application
Select an application type from the drop-down list box. Choose from HTTP (web), FTP, Other TCP or Other
UDP.
Only requests for the selected application type are forwarded to the specified server port on the LAN device.
MAC Address
Enter the MAC address of the LAN device in hexadecimal notation in 6 hexadecimal pairs, for example, 00-50-
BA-8D-22-96.
Make sure you enter the correct MAC address.
Apply
Click Apply to save the changes back to VSG and go back to the Utility Menu.
Clear
Click Clear to start configuring this screen again.
Home
Click Home to go back to the Main Menu screen. The changes you made will not be saved if you have not
clicked Apply.
Previous
Click Previous to go back to the previous screen. The changes you made will not be saved if you have not
clicked Apply.

LAN Device Management Example
In this example, there is a manageable switch behind the VSG and you want to be able to remotely access the web-
based management interface on the manageable switch over the Internet.

You map virtual port 9603 on the VSG to the web server port on the manageable switch.

To access the web-based management interface, enter the WAN IP address of your VSG and the virtual port
number of the LAN device separated by a colon. In this example, enter “http:// 172.168.1.1:9601” where
172.168.1.1 is the WAN IP address of the VSG.

Let’s say you have a web server behind the VSG as shown in the next figure.
