Chatter Notification Engine
Overview
Notification System will not be able to do any useful work unless Chatter Notification Engine is present.
Installing Chatter Notification Engine consists of three separate tasks:
Installing the Chatter Notification Engine.
Engine and one for the Chater Rules Engine.
The content of the Chatter Notification Engine configuration file vary according to the database used.
To different set of configuration files are supplied:
One set if your installation is based on Microsoft SQL server 2005 or Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2
One set if your installation is based on Microsoft SQL server 2005 Express Edition or Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2
Express Edition
A description of the content of the configuration files can be found here.
Following this install guide leaves you with a verified, working installation which does
absolutely nothing.
You will need to modify the configuration of the Chatter Notification Engine after installling one
or more plug-ins.
