For optimum performance, it is
important that the field of operation of
the device lies within the permissible
area of operation for pumps.
4.1 Pumped medium
Clean, well flowing, non-aggressive,
and non-explosive without solid or long
fibred constituents. The pumped
medium must not mechanically or
chemically corrode the material of the
pump.
Examples:
• water of the central heating system
(it is recommended that the water
fulfils the requirements of accepted
water quality standards in heating
systems),
• cooling liquids,
• consumable water,
• industrial liquids,
• softened water.
Due to the different hydraulic effects of
pumping a liquid with different density
and viscosity than water, you must
watch for the following:
• a larger fall in pressure,
• a fall in the hydraulic effect,
• heightened power need of pump.
In these cases, we must provide a
pump with larger motors. If in doubt,
please contact IMP PUMPS. Standard
mounted seals are intended primarily
for water.
If the water contains mineral or
synthetic oils or chemicals, or if
pumping liquid different from water, you
must choose a mechanical seal
accordingly.
5. Installation
Danger of burns! With
devices pumping hot
medium, attention should be
paid that personnel do not come into
contact with hot upper surfaces of
the pump.
5.1 Installing the electric motor
When installing the electric motor, you
must:
• comply with the installation regulations
requirements
• determine if the anti-explosion
protection of the electric motor is
suitable for the environment (zone,
gas group, temperature class)
• determine how the environment
affects the operation of the electric
motor (aggressive environment,
temperature, dust, etc.)
• comply with local and factory
peculiarities and requirements
• ensure the use of proper tools and
appliances
• comply with the requirements for safe
operation
• ensure the use of personal protective
equipment.
5.2 Transport
Transportation of the pump must be
done professionally so that no parts of
the pump are at any time subjected to
disproportionate loads
.
5.3 Storage
The pump must be stored in a dry place with
no excessive dampness. With external
storage, the pump must be stored in
