5.2. Performance Monitoring
The Performance Monitoring and Alert Management page can be invoked by clicking the
status icon in the PE column for a cluster or a server. The page has a tree view on the
left side in a frame, which can be expanded, down to the entity level for a particular
NonStop or Linux server. Each node in the tree shows the overall status of that node
(tree node) where the most severe status of the sub-tree under that node is propagated
upwards. The top node in the tree lists all the configured NonStop clusters. Each node
representing a NonStop cluster may have at most two groups of servers: NonStop and
Linux. So, a cluster node in the tree may have at most two child nodes. Each group node
lists all the servers of that group type configured as member for the cluster. Finally,
each tree node representing a particular server has all the monitored entities as its child
nodes. Note: All systems configured with NonStop Cluster Essentials will be displayed in
the left navigation tree, but only systems with Performance Essentials agents running
will display data. Systems with inactive agents will display unknown status icons
within the tree and will display “No data available” if no data was ever generated or it
will display stale data from the last number of sample retention values within the
corresponding trend graph and table. Additionally, all NonStop systems will have a CLIM
drilldown with CLIM specific entities and metrics. Only NonStop systems that record
CLIM data will display data for these entities.

By default, the Performance Essentials page is automatically refreshed every 30 seconds.
This auto-refresh information is shown in a separate frame above the exploration tree
