Item

Select the CU group that contains the desired CU(s). Choose from the following CU
groups:

00-3F

40-7F

80-BF

C0-FE

CU Group

Select the CU in the connected storage system that contains the desired LDEV(s). The
LDEVs in the selected CU group are listed in the Volume list. The tree displays only the
CUs to which the user has access. If you are logged in to Remote Web Console as a
storage partition administrator, the tree displays only the CUs in the SLPR that you manage.

Tree

Lists the LDEVs in the selected CU and provides detailed information on each LDEV. For
details, see “

Volume List

” on page 17.

Volume list

Provides a summary of the access attribute information for the LDEVs in the selected CU:

Read/Write: Number of LDEVs in the selected CU that have the Read/Write access

attribute.

Read Only: Number of LDEVs in the selected CU that have the Read Only attribute.

Protect: Number of LDEVs in the selected CU that have the Protect attribute.

Volume icons

Applies the requested Volume Retention Manager settings to the storage system.

Apply

Discards the requested Volume Retention Manager settings without applying them to the
storage system.

Cancel

LDKC: This drop-down list lets you select the desired LDKC. You can select 00 or 01.

CU Group: This drop-down list lets you specify the desired CU image. You can select one of the
following items:
• 00-3F: Displays CU from 00 to 3F in the tree.
• 40-7F: Displays CU from 40 to 7F in the tree.
• 80-BF: Displays CU from 80 to BF in the tree.
• C0-FE: Displays CU from C0 to FE in the tree.

Tree: This area displays CUs that belong to the CU group you select from the CU Group drop-down
list. When you click CU in the tree, logical volumes in the CU are displayed in a table on the right
of the Volume Retention Manager window.

Table: The table lists logical volumes and enables you to find the access attribute of each logical
volume. The table headings are:
LDEV: This column displays logical volume numbers. Logical volumes are indicated by the fol-

lowing icons:
If a logical volume ID is displayed with a pound symbol (for example, 00#), the logical volume
is an external volume.

Indicates a logical volume that has the Read/Write attribute.

Indicates a logical volume that has the Read Only attribute.
