Connecting the SCSI Cables

The tape drive connects to a SCSI bus and supports only the differential alternative.

All Himalaya systems should have either the SCSI ports labeled or the international
symbols displayed to indicate the electrical configuration for that port.

Connecting the SCSI Cable to the Tape Drive

1. Copy the device address to use later in the configuration process.

2. Connect the SCSI cable to the left 68-pin jack at the rear of the drive as shown in

Figure 3-2

.

3. Install the terminator at the other 68-pin jack.

Note. Term Power is not supplied by the tape drive; it must be supplied by the NonStop
Himalaya S-series server Bus Adapter card.
