computer. Restarting the Remote Web Console computer
does not affect storage system operations.
Make sure that all XP Continuous Access requirements and
restrictions are met (for example, same LU type).
Make sure that the MCU and RCU and remote copy
connections are powered on and fully operational (NVS,
cache).
Check all input values and parameters to make sure that you
entered the correct information on the Remote Web Console
computer (for example, RCU S/N and ID, path parameters,
P-VOL and S-VOL IDs).
Call HP technical support for assistance.
An initiator channel-enable LED indicator (on
the storage system control panel) is off or
flashing.
Make sure that the correct CU is selected.
The pairs and/or RCUs are not displaying
correctly.
Resolve the error, and then try the XP Continuous Access
operation again.
An XP Continuous Access error message is
displayed on the computer.
Check the path status (RCU Status dialog box), and see
“Troubleshooting RCU Path Status Problems” (page 153)
.
The RCU path status is not normal.
Check the pair status (Detailed Information dialog box), and

The pair status is suspended.
Hardware failure: If the timeout error was caused by a
hardware failure, a SIM will be generated. If this occurs,
Paircreate or pairresync operation resulted in

call your HP service representative, and retry the XP
Continuous Access operations after the problem is fixed.
Heavy workload: If no SIM was generated, wait for a while
(5 or 6 minutes), then check the pair status of the pair(s)
being created or resynchronized. If the pair status changed
correctly, the failed operation completed after the timeout
message was issued. If the pair status did not change as
expected, a heavy workload might have prevented the XP
Continuous Access operation from being completed. In this
case, retry the XP Continuous Access operation again when
the storage system has a lighter workload.
