6 Launching P9000 Application
Performance Extender from P9000
Performance Advisor
HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software collects, monitors, and displays the
performance of your HP StorageWorks XP/P9500 Disk Arrays. P9000 Performance Advisor collects
performance data for individual resources such as LDEV, CHIP/CHA, ACP/DKA, and DKC.
P9000 Application Performance Extender can be launched from P9000 Performance Advisor. To
launch P9000 Application Performance Extender from P9000 Performance Advisor, enter the IP
address or DNS name of the management station in the AppIntegrations.properties file,
where P9000 Application Performance Extender is installed.
APPL_SERVER = <IP address> or <DNS name> of the XP Application Performance
Extender management station
The AppIntegrations.properties file is located in the <Installation_drive>:hpss/pa/
properties
folder on the management station where P9000 Performance Advisoris installed.
IMPORTANT:
•
Ensure that the AppIntegrations.properties file name is not modified, as P9000 Perform-
ance Advisor refers to this file for the P9000 Application Performance Extender management
station address every time it launches P9000 Application Performance Extender.

By default, the P9000 Application Performance Extender tomcat service uses port 8080 for its
communication with P9000 Performance Advisor. If you want to use a different port number, ensure
that you use a port number that is supported by P9000 Application Performance Extender.

Do not modify the default values specified for the other parameters in the AppIntegra-
tions.properties
file.
To launch P9000 Application Performance Extender from P9000 Performance Advisor:
1.
Click HP P9000 APEX in the left pane on the Dashboard screen.
2.
On the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software screen, click Launch HP Storage-
Works P9000 Application Performance Extender Software.
The P9000 Application Performance Extender home page is displayed in a separate IE browser
window, as shown in
