Installing WebObjects

To install Developer Tools, follow these steps:

Start up your computer in Mac OS X Server and log in as the Administrator (“root”).

Insert the Developer CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

If necessary, double-click the CD icon to open its main window.

Double-click the Mac_OS_X_Server folder.

If you have a WebObjects Developer CD, double-click the WebObjectsDeveloper.mpkg file.

If you have a Mac OS X Server Developer CD, double-click the
MacOSXServerDeveloper.mpkg file.

In the Package Selection dialog box, click Install.

For each package, the Installer checks for existing files on your disk and then installs the
necessary package files.
Note: If you want to exclude a component, deselect it before clicking Install. To develop
WebObjects applications, you must install, at least, these packages: Developer Tools,
Developer Libraries, WebObjects Deployment, and WebObjects Developer.

If the Installer asks for your serial number, enter it in the text field and click OK.

The product serial number is on the CD envelope, in the format “A-999-AAA-999-AAA-999-
AAA-999-AAA-999”.
