Caution

Make sure you charge the battery pack in a location where the

temperature is within the allowable range for charging.

• The allowable range for charging the battery pack is shown below. Charging in

a location where the temperature is outside this range can lower battery pack
performance and service life, and can also lead to leaking and overheating of
the battery pack.

Allowable Temperature for Charging: 0

°C to 40°C

Important
• Pocket PC Terminal IR data communication uses a high-sensitivity communication

component.

• To help ensure proper data communication, avoid using cell phones and other devices

that emit radio waves in the vicinity of the Pocket PC Terminal while data
communication is taking place. The cell phone or other device should be at least
30cm from the Pocket PC Terminal.

• If the charge indicator does not light during charging, remove the Pocket PC

Terminal from and then remount it onto the Optical Communication Unit. If the
charge indicator does not light, remove the battery pack from the Pocket PC
Terminal, reload the same battery pack, and try charging again. If the charge
indicator still does not light, it indicates that the battery pack is defective. Replace the
battery pack with a new one.

• Never try to use the Optical Communication Unit to charge a battery other than the

one specifically indicated in this manual.

• A fully charged battery pack naturally discharges little by little, even if you are not

using it. Because of this, the best policy is to wait until just before you need a battery
pack before you charge it.

• For best charging results, keep the contacts of the Optical Communication Unit, the

Pocket PC Terminal, and the battery pack clean by wiping them periodically with a
cotton swab or a dry cloth.
