The FM2, provided only with an X-contact for synchronization,
synchronizes with the speedlight when the shutter speed set is
1/250 sec. or slower,

Note;
When using a special electronic flash unit with provision for time lag, an
electronic flash unit with long flash duration, the Medical-Nikkor 120mm f/4
IP, or the Nikon Repeating Flash Unit SB-6 at 1/2 or full output, adjust shutter
speed down to 1/125 sec. or slower. With flashbulbs, set shutter speed at
1/30 sec. or slower.
