In the event of a power failure the batter y backup provided may not

lift the user to a fully raised position.

In the event of a power failure, if you require a lift to the fully raised

position or multiple lifts and recline, a batter y backup system may be

purchased separately. Contact your La-Z-Boy

®

dealer for more information.

Replace the Power Transfor mer batter ies ever y six months and after

each power failure use.

Batter y Backup Assembly Instructions

In the event of a power failure the batter y backup should retur n the user to the

seated position from a fully raised position or a full recline position, one time.

The Batter y Backup is located in the Power Transfor mer and uses two 9-volt

alkaline batter ies (not included).

1. Unplug the Power Transfor mer from the electr ical outlet.

2. Remove the (2) Phillips head screws from the batter y cover on top of the

Power Transfor mer.

3. Place the connection ca ps over the batter y ter minals on each batter y.

4. Place the batter y cover over the batter ies and secure with the two Phillips

head screws removed in Step 2 (F

5. Proceed to the Luxur y-Lift Power Recliner with Heat Operating Instr uctions .

Do not let children play on or near the chair when in use. Serious injury or death

could occur if a child is under the chair when the chair is moved from the full lift

to the seated position.

Plug directly into a wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord or adapter.

-- To reduce the risk of serious injury or death:

The 1LH lift chair is intended for a single occupant, not exceeding 500

pounds. Do not operate the chair with more than one occupant in or

the chair.

Sit down in the unit slowly. To avoid tip over, do not throw your weight

against the back of the unit. Move the unit into or out of the reclining

position slowly, making sure that no children or pets are in close proximity.

To safely exit the unit and prevent a tr ipping hazard br ing the back

upr ight and close the legrest.

NOTICE:

To prevent product damage:

Operate this chair only w hen it is upr ight, setting on its base.

Operating the

UP and DOWN function continuously may cause the

power transfor mer to fail, or may cause the motor to overheat and

shutdown. Allow several minutes between each

UP and DOWN cycle.

Plug in the Power Transfor mer. Make sure there is enough slack in the cord

running from the chair to the outlet to allow for lifting and reclining. Never

stretch or strain a cord.

Power Recliner Operation

The hand wand is located in the pocket of the r ight side sitting ar m.

Stand beside the chair, press and hold the toggle switch

UP on the hand

wand to raise the chair. Release the toggle switch w hen the chair

reaches a comfor ta ble height to sit against.

Step back into the chair and lean against the seat. Press and hold the

toggle switch

DOWN to lower the chair. Release the toggle switch when

you reach the seated position.

To recline press and hold the toggle switch

DOWN. Release the toggle

switch w hen you reach the desired recline position.

To retur n to the seated position press and hold the toggle switch

UP.

Release the toggle switch w hen you reach the seated position.

To raise the chair to a standing position press and hold the toggle

switch

UP. Gradually shift your weight forward as the chair rises.Release

the toggle switch w hen the chair reaches a height that ena bles you to

easily stand.
