Troubleshooting

Problem

Motor won’t start




Fails to split logs

Cause

Overload protection device
disengaged to protect the log
splitter from being damaged


Extension cord is too long,
causing the low voltage



Log is improperly positioned



The sizes or hardness of the
log exceeds the capacity of the
machine

Oil leaks

Unauthorized adjustment was
made on Max. Pressure
Limiting Screw. Lower max
pressure rating was set.

Lack of hydraulic oil and
excessive air in the hydraulic
system

Air sealed in hydraulic system
while operating

Bleed screw is not tightened
before moving the log splitter

Oil drain bolt with dipstick is not
tight.

Hydraulic control valve
assembly and/or seal(s) worn.

Suggested Remedy

Let motor cool down, and push
the button of the overload pro-
tection device to restart
the motor

Do not use extension cord
longer than 50 feet. Use the
extension cord as manual
recommended. (See pg. 2)

Refer to “Log splitter
operation” section for perfect
log loading

Reduce the log size before
splitting it on the log splitter

Locate leak(s) and contact the
dealer

Contact the dealer




Check oil level for possible oil
refilling. Contact the dealer.

Loosen bleed screw by some
rotations before operating the
log splitter

Tight the bleed screw up
before moving the log splitter

Tighten the oil drain bolt with
dipstick

Contact the dealer

The log pusher moves jerkily,
making unfamiliar noise or
vibrating a lot

Oil leaks around cylinder ram
or from other points
