Exploring the GUI: The Setup Menu Tab
Your RECEPTOR has several system level settings that are important for getting the most out
of your RECEPTOR TRIO or RECEPTOR QU4TTRO. These are all found in the SETUP tab on the
Graphical User Interface.
Setup: Software Manager / System Tab
The Software Manager window is the "command central" area
for managing the operating system and plug-in software on your
RECEPTOR TRIO or RECEPTOR QU4TTRO. When you open up the
window, you'll see Tabs across the top: SYSTEM, PLUGINS, and
LICENSES.
The System tab gives you the details on the current version of
system software you are running, as well as letting you select
whether the system is running in 32-bit or 64-bit mode. If you
happen to have 64-bit plug-ins installed on your system, you are
able to take advantage of greater than 4GB of system memory. You
can put the system into 32 or 64-bit mode by simply clicking on one
of the mode buttons.
Note: 64-bit mode let's you access larger amounts of RAM supported by 64-bit plugins, but you
cannot run 32-bit plug-ins in 64- bit mode. To run both 32 and 64-bit plugins simultaneously, use
the Intellibridge feature in 32-bit mode to get the best of both worlds.
The Intellibridge™ feature is turned on or off in the System window. Intellibridge is a proprietary
technology that lets you run BOTH 32-bit and 64-bit plug-ins simultaneously, running the 32-
bit plugins in their own 4GB block of memory, while letting the 64-bit plugins run in whatever
remaining memory is available. 64-bit plugins that are installed on your system are indicated by
a small "64" moniker next to the picture of the plug-in when viewing the pictures of the plug-ins
installed on the system in the main rack view.
The System screen is also where you can turn the Multi-Core processing support on or off. Not all
plug-ins run well in a multi-core environment, and if you have issues with a particular plug-in, you
might want to try turning the Multi-Core support off to see if this improves matters. Be advised
however that Multi-Core processor compatible plug-ins will esnure that you get the maximum
performance out of your RECEPTOR.
Updating your System Software
At the bottom of the System page is where you are able to check for Software updates, or install
software "fixers" that allow you to quickly and easily install new software plugins.
To update the software, you must first have a "live" Internet conection available, and you must also
connect a mouse, monitor and keyboard to your RECEPTOR. Once these connections have been
made, simply select Software Update from the SETUP menu, and the RECEPTOR will automatically
check for, download and install any relevant software updates for the system.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is possible that there will more than one software update available for your
RECEPTOR depending on when you last updated. It is essential that you update your system until
you see the message "There are no updated packages currently available for your system". Simply
continue to press the "Check for Updates" button, and click on the " Apply Updates" button as each
new update is introduced into the system, and repeat this process until you receive the message
that no more updates are avaialble. Only then can you be sure that you have all the new updates.
