Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before operating and maintaining. Review
the safety instructions and precautions annually.

TAKE NOTE! THIS SAFETY ALERT SYMBOL FOUND THROUGHOUT THIS MANUAL IS
USED TO CALL YOUR ATTENTION TO INSTRUCTIONS INVOLVING YOUR PERSONAL
SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS
CAN RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH.

SAFETY SIGNAL WORDS

Note the use of the signal words DANGER, WARNING and CAUTION with the safety
messages. The appropriate signal word for each has been selected using the following
guidelines:

DANGER: Red. Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will result
in death or serious injury. This signal word is to be limited to the most extreme situations
typically for machine components which, for functional purposes, cannot be guarded.

WARNING: Orange. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, could
result in death or serious injury, and includes hazards that are exposed when guards are
removed. It may also be used to alert against unsafe practices.

CAUTION: Yellow. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, may
result in minor or moderate injury. It may also be used to alert against unsafe practices.

SPARK ARRESTOR
The engine in these machines are not equipped with a spark arrestor muffler. It is in violation of California Public
Resourse Code Section 4442 which states:

No person shall sell, offer for sale, lease, or rent to any person any internal combustion engine subject to Sec-
tion 4442 or 4443, and not subject to Section 13005 of the Health and Safety Code, unless the person provides
a written notice to the purchaser or bailee, at the time of sale or at the time of entering into the lease or rental
contract, stating that it is a violation of Section 4442 or 4443 to use or operate the engine on any forest-covered,
brush-covered, or grass-covered land unless the engine is equipped with a spark arrester, as defined in Section
4442, maintained in effective working order or the engine is constructed, equipped, and maintained for the pre-
vention of fire pursuant to Section 4443.

Other states or jurisdictions may have similar laws.
