Enabling WSD Scan Services
Web Services for Devices (WSD) is technology from Microsoft that provides a standard method for
discovering and using network connected devices. It is supported in Windows Vista, Windows Server
2008, and newer operating systems. WSD is one of several supported communication protocols.
To enable WSD scan services:
1.
At your computer, open a Web browser. In the address field, type the IP address of the printer, then
press
Enter or Return.
Note:
If you do not know the IP address for your printer, refer to
Finding the IP Address of Your
Printer
on page 33.
2.
In the Embedded Web Server, click Connectivity.
Note:
If this feature does not appear, log in as a system administrator. For details, refer to
Logging
In as the Administrator
on page 265.
3.
For Protocols, click WSD (Web Services on Devices).
4.
To enable WSD scan services, click the WSD Scan toggle button.
5.
Click OK.
6.
At the prompt, click Restart Now.
