5.0 Installation
The PC ServerSwitch 2x16 unit is designed to occupy 3.50 inches of rack space.
Sufficient space is required behind the rear panel of the unit to allow for attached
cables bend radius (6 inches should be sufficient). It is helpful to plan ahead if
additional units might be added to the configuration at some later date. If
cascading (adding PC ServerSwitch 2x16’s) is to be used, make certain to leave
enough space in the rack for additional units. The PC ServerSwitch 2x16
installation can be expanded at any time, without interfering with servers
connected to existing switches.

STEP 1 -- Unpacking the Items
Verify that the following items are located in the packaging.

(1) PC ServerSwitch 2x16
•
(1) AC Power Cordset
•
(1) Cable - DB9 Female to Male Serial data cable (6 foot long)
•
(1) PC ServerSwitch 2x16 Product Handbook
•
Cables, as required for your number of servers and units.
NOTE! Optional cable kits are available. (1) Kit contains:
•
(2) male-male 6-pin MiniDIN cables, to connect a server's keyboard and
mouse to PC ServerSwitch 2x16
•
(1) HD15 male-male video cable to connect server video adapter to the
PC ServerSwitch 2x16
