Presetting TA Volume

With this option, the volume for Traffi c An-
nouncements can be preset to the required
level.

Long-press the

button to enter SAM. TA

volume setting is the fi rst menu item.
Press the

or

button to select the

TA volume option.

Turn the

knob clockwise to set volume

“louder” and counter-clockwise “softer” de-
pending on your requirements.

TA Activation / De-activation

Short-press

button to activate/deactivate

TP search. The indication

"TP"

in the display

will refl ect the availability of a TP station. When
the radio is tuned to a TP station, the "TP" icon
will stop blinking on the display.

Interrupting TA

If you do not wish to continue listening to a par-
ticular Traffi c Announcement broadcast, you can
interrupt it without switching off the TA mode.

Short-press the

button once, the hea-

dunit will return to the previous operating
mode.

Programme Type (PTY)

This function is available with FM only. It ena-
bles you to select stations by programme type.
There is a coding of up to 28 pre-defi ned pro-
gramme types – e.g. (in Europe): PTY1 News,
PTY6 Drama, PTY11 Rock music.

PTY Activation / De-activation

To change the operation mode of the PTY, you
need to change the setting in the SAM.

Navigate the SAM to select ‘PTY’.

Turn the

knob clockwise/counter-clock-

wise to toggle the PTY setting.

Note: Setting ‘PTY’ menu item to 'NEWS' will
allow PTY-NEWS to interrupt (in a similar way as
TA interruption) when there is incoming NEWS.

Searching for a Programme Type

Long-press

button to activate the PTY

function.
Short-press either

to search for PTY stations.

RDS Regionalization

To change the way this headunit reacts to the
environmental conditions affecting the quality of
the radio stations, you can change the setting in
the SAM.

Navigate in SAM to select ‘REG-ON’.

Turn the

knob clockwise/counter-clock-

wise to toggle the REG setting.

ALARM Messages (PTY)

This set automatically receives emergency mes-
sages. The Alarm messages can be received
either from the tuned station itself or from any
other station in the EON network of this station
and have the highest priority.
During the messages the display shows
'ALARM' and the station name alternately.

USB AND SD/MMC
OPERATION

General

This headunit offers the ability to listen to digital
audio (MP3, WMA, OGG) from either a USB de-
vice or a SD/MMC card. Please refer to sections
on 'Notes on SD/MMC' and on 'Notes on USB'
for more information on the compatibility and
support of multimedia cards and devices.

Note: When changing the source, the current
volume setting of the USB-SD/MMC source will
be stored in the headunit. When switching back
to the USB-SD/MMC source, the volume setting
will be set to the same setting as it was set be-
fore altering the source.

Insert the USB device as shown in illustration
(E) into the set.

Auto-Play

You can use the SD or MMC card or an USB
device to play music fi les.

If not already on, short-press the

button

to turn on the headunit.
Insert the card or device into their respective
SD/MMC card slot or USB port.

Important note: When a card or a device is
inserted, it will play automatically, unless the
current event (e.g. Traffi c Announcement or
receiving a phone call) is of a higher priority,
then this function is deactivated untill the Traffi c
Announcement or phone call has been fi nished.
