Step 2.

Attach one corner of the net to the top plate beam, or equally suitable horizon-

tal beam, with a single cinch strap, passing the strap around the selected perimeter rope
and over the top plate. Be sure to put the strap end through the bottom of the buckle,
then cinch tight to the top plate as shown. Make sure that the strap buckles are positioned
under the top plate to prevent a possible trip hazard. Repeat
this installation on all four corners.

Attaching strap through a shear
wall
requires the use of a hole punch
and hammer to punch a hole no larger
than 1-1/2 inch just under the top plate.
Pass the strap through the wall around
the perimeter rope and over the top
plate, then back through the shear wall. Make sure that the strap buckles are positioned
under the top plate to prevent a possible trip hazard. Cinch the strap tight to the top plate.

Step 3.

Add additional cinch straps every four feet around the perimeter of the net until all four sides of the

net have been secured. Make sure that the strap buckles are positioned under the top plate to prevent a pos-
sible trip hazard. Note: Use only InCord provided cinch straps.

Step 4.

Tighten the netting with the two cross ropes. Pull each cross rope tight

and then tie off at each corner. Note: The cross rope is used to tighten the net by
tensioning the inner perimeter ropes.

Step 5.

Check the net for tightness. The net should be flat and moderately

tight, with only a shallow dip of 6 inches maximum at the center. If the droop
exceeds this, you may have to tighten the cinch straps, retract additional rope or
install a different net. If a different net size is required other than indicated on the
layout sheet, make a note and report the change to your supervisor.

Step 6.

The takedown procedure requires care not to tear or stress the net

unnecessarily. Remove all side straps first, then lower each net corner. Inspect
the net and all straps for cuts or tears, and report any damage to your supervisor before packing the net.

Cinch Straps
installed on all
four corners of
the safety net.
