TWIN FILTER RESPIRATOR

Half mask respirator designed, when fitted with the correct filter, to provide a degree of protection against certain hazardous
dusts and vapours.

Application:
Hazardous dusts – P2
Examples: Carbon black, coal dust, cristobalite, emery, graphite gypsum, limestone, marble, metal dust, metal fume, mica,
mineral wool, plaster of Paris, PVC, quartz, rubber fume, silica, silicon, starch, talc, warfarin, wood dust.

P3 filters are also available, which offer a higher level of protection against other hazardous materials, such as asbestos,
welding fumes and lead fumes.

Sometimes both particulate and vapour hazards are encountered together, for instance during spraying of volatile
compounds, or when more than one substance is present. In this case the 331110 Dust Filter Pads can be used in conjunction
with the 331105 Vapour Filters.

Fitting instructions:

1. Pull loose elastic strap loop from bottom of mask, and place over head and around neck.
2. Take head harness and place on crown of head, at the same time placing the nose, mouth and chin into the mask.
3. Pull down on loose ends of elastic straps, at either side to tighten.
4. Do not over tighten as this will cause unnecessary discomfort and will not improve protection.
5. Test seal by placing hands over the filters and inhaling.
6. The mask should collapse slightly towards the face and remain collapsed until the wearer exhales.
7. If there is a leak, check seal and exhalation valves. This respirator is supplied with EN143 PS(S) Dust Filters Pads. Do

not use if a good fit cannot be achieved.

Cleaning:
Regular cleaning is essential to prevent build-up of contaminants which could cause skin irritation, and to ensure continual
efficient working of the respirator.
Clean mask in warm soapy water or a very mild diluted disinfectant, rinse through with cold water, and allow to dry naturally
away from direct heat sources of sunlight. Do not use solvents or concentrated detergents to clean the mask as this will
damage the delicate valves and faceseal. Whilst cleaning the mask, inspect for signs of damage to straps, valves and faceseal.
Do not use a damaged mask, refer to Vitrex if repairs are needed.

Storage:
After cleaning, store the mask in a clean, dry environment away from direct heat source and sunlight in re-sealable pack
provided. Retain instructions for future reference.

Before use:
If P2 filter element needs replacing, snap off white cover, renew pad and ensure respirator is clean and dry. Check for
damage to faceseal, valves and straps. Check filter is fitted correctly and is not damaged. Ensure correct filter is selected for
your application.

IMPORTANT:
Both filters must be changed at the same time. Replace Dust Filter Pads when they become clogged and difficult to breathe
through.
