The following example creates a file system with Enterprise mode retention, with a default retention
period of 1 month, a minimum retention period of 3 days, a maximum retention period of 5 years,
and an autocommit period of 1 hour:

ibrix_fs -o "retenMode=Enterprise,retenDefPeriod=1M,retenMinPeriod=3d,
retenMaxPeriod=5y,retenAutoCommitPeriod=1h" -c -f ifs1 -s ilv_[1-4] -a

Configuring data retention on existing file systems

NOTE:

Data retention cannot be enabled on a file system created on StoreAll software 5.6 or

earlier versions. Instead, create a new file system on StoreAll software 6.0 or later, and then copy
or move files from the old file system to the new file system.

To enable or change the data retention or Express Query configuration an existing file system, first
unmount the file system. Select Active Tasks > WORM/Data Retention from the lower Navigator,
and then click Modify on the WORM/Data Retention panel. You do not need to unmount the file
system to change the configuration for data validation or report data generation.

To enable data retention on an existing file system using the CLI, run this command:

ibrix_fs -W -f FSNAME -o "retenMode=<mode>,retenDefPeriod=<period>,retenMinPeriod=<period>,
retenMaxPeriod=<period>"

To enable data retention on an existing file system, created with StoreAll version 6.0 or earlier,
follow the steps to upgrade the file system as described in the

HP StoreAll 9300/9320 Storage

Administrator Guide

in the section, Upgrading the StoreAll software to the 6.2 release. Then,

configure the file system retention profile as described in the steps provided earlier in this section.
