Recommended actions

Problem/Scenario

Do the following:

Set the SMTP server details and the sender's email ID in the set-
tings.ini

file

Verify the email ID provided to receive email notifications.

Email notifications are not dis-
patched.

Verify if the communication agent is running on all the hosts.

Refresh host list to view all the hosts connected to the management
station.

Hosts are listed as offline.

Ensure that you clear the Disable filter check box on the Alarms screen.

Filtered data is not displayed in
the Alarms screen.

Verify the HBA details in the following communication agent log files
against the details in the support matrix:

HP-UX and Linux — opt/Hewlett-Packard/apex/com_agent/
tmp/adapterInfo

Windows — <Install Path>\Hewlett-Packard\apex\
com_agent\log\adapterInfo.txt

For additional details of the problem, including error messages, see the
following communication agent log files:

HP-UX and Linux — /opt/Hewlett-Packard/apex/com_agent/
log/apexcommagentlog.log

Windows — <Install Path>\Hewlett-Packard\apex\
com_agent\log\commagentLog.txt

VMWare ESX Hosts – Verify that the proper QLogic driver and providers
are installed.

To check installed driver version run cat /proc/scsi/qla2xxx/
<Entry no> | grep version

command on ESX base OS.

To check the installed provider version run esxupdate query --
vib-view | grep qlogic

command.

The value in the APEX Supported
column shows “No” for a host.

Remove the management station installation folder. If you are still unable
to reinstall, reboot the system and try installing the management station.

Unable to reinstall the manage-
ment station.

Do the following:

Verify if the controller service is running.

If command devices are not accessible by the controller that is function-
ing , you must follow the controller restart procedure after restoring its
availability.

Live graphs are not displayed.

Remove the existing version of PostgreSQL from your system and try
reinstalling P9000 Application Performance Extender.
OR
Install P9000 Application Performance Extender on another system.

If PostgreSQL is already installed
on your system, installation will
quit with the following message:

Detected that same

version of PostgreSQL is

already installed in the

system. Installation will

quit now. Please refer to

troubleshooting steps in

User Guide.
