Recommended actions

Problem/Scenario

On Linux hosts, ensure that the driver corresponding to the QLogic HBAs
is listed as the first uncommented entry in the /etc/hba.conf file.

For example, on 32 bit Linux hosts, if the /etc/hba.conf file includes
the following entries:

lpfc

/usr/lib/libemsdm.so

qla2xxx

/usr/lib/libqlsdm.so

Change it to the following:

qla2xxx

/usr/lib/libqlsdm.so

lpfc

/usr/lib/libemsdm.so

On 64 bit Linux hosts, if the /etc/hba.conf file includes the follow-
ing entries:

lpfc

/usr/lib/libemsdm.so

lpfc

/usr/lib64/libemsdm.so

qla2xxx

/usr/lib/libqlsdm.so

qla2xxx64

/usr/lib64/libqlsdm.so

Change it to the following:

qla2xxx64

/usr/lib64/libqlsdm.so

lpfc

/usr/lib/libemsdm.so

lpfc

/usr/lib64/libemsdm.so

qla2xxx

/usr/lib/libqlsdm.so

Adding/updating workloads fails
on Linux hosts.

Ensure that the <MS install folder>\DB folder is removed.

The management station installa-
tion fails and rolls back on reinstall-
ation.

Ensure that you stop other applications such as P9000 , which are using
RMLIB.

Scenario: Removing RMLIB along
with the controller

After a controller reboot, do the following:

1.

On the Controller Settings screen, select the array that was controlled
by the controller that rebooted.

2.

Remove the controller associated with the array.

3.

Select a controller that is available from the Controller(s) And Managed
Array(s) Information table.

4.

On the Controller Settings screen, under Command Device Settings,
select an array from the Select Array list.

5.

Select a command device from the Command Device Settings table
to configure the command device of the host running the controller.

6.

Set Command devices.

7.

Specify DLOM settings.

8.

Select the profile that was applied to the array and click Save
Changes.

Scenario: Planned reboot of the
host where the controller is in-
stalled.

To change HBAs on Windows or Linux hosts:

1.

Remove the workload settings of the host.

2.

Change the HBAs with a supported HBA and collect configuration
data for the host.

3.

Reconfigure the workload settings.
