Operating Instructions

4.1

Manual Operation of the ART Strut

Pull the Airshore Rescue tool apart until the attachment and the
base plate make contact with the surface/load or the base that
is to be supported. Push the first safety pin into a free piston drill
hole and turn the sleeve with the T-grips, depending on the incli-
ne of the thread, upwards until the safety pin sits in the last possi-
ble lock-in position. Secure the T-grips and push the second safety
pin into a free piston hole, offset by 90° within the spiral latch.

Attachments and base plates must be

secured against slippage by appropriate

means! (E.g. nails, screws)

4.2

Pneumatic Operation of the ART Strut

ART struts can be operated pneumatically with a source of com-
pressed air and the original accessories: filling hose and control
mechanism. The air source can be a compressed air bottle with a
pressure regulator or a vehicle compressor system.

The maximum permissible start pressure must
be observed for pressure stages!

Recommended positive pressure for trench struts:
10.0 bar

Authorized positive operating pressure for collapsed
buildings:

max. 2.5 bar

Maximum authorized start pressure for control
mechanism:

4,0

bar

(applies to single struts and heavy-duty columns)

Connect the appropriate control (2.5 or 10 bar) and the filling
hose (2.5 or 10 bar) with the ART strut.
The hose set, article no. 700001102, is needed as an additional ac-
cessory for the high strength column.
Operate the control mechanism until the attachment and the
base plate make contact with the strut surface or the base. Push
the first safety pin in a free piston drill hole and turn the sleeve
with the T-grips, depending on the incline of the thread, upwards
until the safety pin sits in the last possible lock-in position. Secure
the T-grips and push the second safety pin into a free piston hole
offset by 90° within the spiral latch.
Check that the strut sits perfectly and is secure before you start
any further work.
