Blocking additional shots

1.

Create the following additional shots that are called for in the rundown for the show:

Camera #1 - A wide 3-shot of the anchors and the weather centre - called 3SHOT WX

Camera #1 - A medium 3-shot of the anchors and the weather centre - called 3SHOT WX

END

Camera #1 - A bumper for the end of the show that starts with a 3 shot of the anchor desk

- called END BUMP. The pedestal slowly moves away from the desk, increases height
and zooms wide - called END BUMP END. Set a fade time of 20 seconds for this shot.

Camera #2 - An over the shoulder key shot - called ANCHOR KEY

Camera #3 - A wide shot on the weatherperson standing at the weather centre - called

WX STAND

Camera #3 - A medium shot on the weatherperson standing at the weather centre - called

WX STAND END

2.

The workspace should now look similar to Figure 26.

3.

The positioning of the shots on the grid is a matter of personal preference. You may choose an order

that matches how shots will be called for in the rundown for the show, or any arrangement that suits
your style of operation. Shots can be used in any order as stories are dropped or added, or as the
director requires any last minute modifications to the rundown for the show.

4.

If the screen is full of shots, you may want to move the HOME shots to a lower page since they will

not normally be needed during the show.
