7. Installing the DVD-ROM

The DVD-ROM supplied with your ViaMichelin Navigation X-930 contains 2 programs:
- POI Manager: used to install “*.poi” or “*.asc” files on your system.
- SD Manager:

to restore your SD card in the event of an error.


7.1. Connecting ViaMichelin Navigation X-930 to the PC

To make sure that files are transferred from the PC to the ViaMichelin Navigation X-930

with maximum efficiency, we advise you to download and install the latest version of
Microsoft’s ActiveSync® software.

If you have a Pocket PC© connected to your PC, you will need to disconnect it before

connecting your ViaMichelin Navigation X-930.

7.1.1. Connecting

Plug the USB cable mini-connector into the ViaMichelin Navigation X-930 device.

Plug the USB connector into your PC.

Switch on your ViaMichelin Navigation X-930.

7.1.2. ActiveSync

You do not need to establish a partnership to transfer files (e.g. POI) from your PC to the
ViaMichelin Navigation X-930.

When asked if you want to establish a partnership, select "

No

" then click "

Next

".

Microsoft ActiveSync

starts in guest mode.

You can now transfer POI files with POI Manager or use the SD Manager card restore
software.


7.2. Installing the DVD-ROM

Connect the ViaMichelin Navigation X-930 to your PC

Check that your PC's hard disk has enough free space (approximately 1GB) to install the
ViaMichelin software.

Insert the DVD-ROM in your PC’s DVD drive.
