Brakes squeal during braking

Brake pads oily (brake fluid, oil)

Front wheel not turning
freely

Brake disc oily

Running wheel cannot be
mounted

Brakes are very noisy and
braking is very rough

caUse

Poor mounting conditions

Spokes on the wheel have
insufficient tension.
Brake disc worn

Carbon pad and sinter pad
being used on one brake
disc

Carelessness

Mounting incorrect. Too
much brake fluid in the
compensating reservoir. Brake
caliper not aligned
with brake disc.

Carelessness

The brake lever has been
pulled in with the running
wheel removed

Pads completely worn out,
the lining carrier material
have worn the disc

rectification

Reposition brake caliper
correctly. Ensure
that the mounting holes
are free from damage and dirt.
Check for correct spoke
tension. Check the minimum
thickness and if necessary
exchange the brake disc.
Use separate brake discs for
carbon and sinter pads

Exchange the brake pads

Check mounting. Open
compensating reservoir
and discharge overpressure
as necessary. Loosen the
fixing screws on the brake
caliper – pump the pads
onto the brake disc – with
the hand brake lever pulled
on retighten the screws
on the brake caliper

Cleaning with brake
cleaner or alcohol

Press back the pads
manually
