obtained in the XP Continuous Access Synchronous secondary site because of the failure in the
master journal volume or occurrence of the pinned track. If the status of the XP Continuous Access
Journal pair for the delta resync operation changes to HLDE, follow the steps in
“Restoring a Pair
of Data Volumes (Pairresync)” (page 191) and change the pair status to HOLD again.
Switching the Master Journal Group of XP Continuous Access Journal
When a failure occurs on the primary site, as illustrated in “Delta Resync Setting 3DC Multi-Target
Configuration - Before Failure Occurs” (page 29) , (3DC multi-target configuration), the XP Continuous
Access Journal pair for the delta resync operation can be configured to use the journal group in
the XP Continuous Access Synchronous secondary site as the master journal group. To switch the
master journal group, follow the next steps:
1. Use the RAID Manager horctakeover command to configure the XP Continuous Access
Synchronous secondary site as the primary site.
2. While in HOLD status, perform the delta resync operation on the primary data volume of the
XP Continuous Access Journal pair.
