S-VOL in PSUS status is used as an XP Continuous Access Journal primary data volume
In the following example, an XP Business Copy S-VOL in PSUS status is also functioning as an
XP Continuous Access Journal primary data volume. This configuration allows XP Continuous
Access Journal to make a remote backup copy of the XP Business Copy S-VOL.

If a failure occurs and the XP Business Copy P-VOL is damaged in

the following steps to copy data from the XP Continuous Access Journal secondary data volume
to the XP Business Copy P-VOL so that data can be restored to the XP Business Copy P-VOL:
1.
Execute the RAID Manager
pairsplit -S
command on the XP Business Copy pair to release
the pair (see
).
2.
Execute the RAID Manager
horctakeover
command on the XP Continuous Access Journal
pair to reverse the copy direction and re-establish the pair (see
).
3.
Execute the RAID Manager

command on the XP Continuous Access Journal
pair to change the copy direction to the original direction and re-establish the pair (see
