1. Assemble the hood to the hood bar using the six
1/2-20 self tapping screws.
2. Bolt the hood bracket to the balancer, Using the
four 3/8-16 bolts, and the four 3/8-16 wiz lock nuts.
3. Install the hood stop, if not already pre-assembled,
onto the hood bracket.
4. Slide one flanged bearing onto the hood bar; flange
to cam.
5. Install the hood assembly to the hood bracket.
6. Slide the other flanged bearing into position fol-
lowed by the hood bar washer, retainer and cap plug.
7. Raise the hood all the way and verify that the hood
stop bracket on the side of the hood contacts the rub-
ber hood stop solidly. Lower the hood and verify that
the other end of the hood stop bracket contacts the rub-
ber hood stop solidly.
8. Raise the hood and hold it up.
Use help to hold the hood while attaching
the hood spring. Attaching the spring with-
out holding the hood in place may cause it
to snap open suddenly, resulting in personal
injury.
9. Hook the other hook end of the hood spring under
the balancer.
10. Hook the hood spring over the pin in the rear of
the hood stop bracket. Make sure the spring fits into
the grove in the pin.
