3.3.3 Emitter/Receiver Orientation
The emitter and receiver must be mounted vertically, and parallel to each other,
with their displays either both at the top or both at the bottom. Otherwise
dangerous voids in the light grid could allow objects or personnel to pass
undetected through the grid (see Figure 3-5). Be certain the light grid covers all
access to the guarded area not otherwise protected by hard guarding or other
supplemental guarding.
