Stator Resistance
Test
Key switch OFF.
Stator leads
disconnected from
regulator.
NOTE: Because of the small amount of
resistance in the stator windings, use a digital
multimeter or an analog meter with a high
sensitivity rating to measure resistance of stator
windings. If an analog meter is to be used, make
sure it is at the lowest scale setting and is
zeroed.

Connect ohmmeter to stator leads (A). Compare
reading with specification (listed in chart) of
engine being tested.
NOTE: The “Spec” letter is the last letter of the
engine model number.
