Thank you for purchasing Yamaha Drums, We would like to explain about the Yamaha Vintage Finish (noted in
the catalog as "Vintage (VN)") that is used on these drums.
The Vintage Finish is an original finish formulated by Yamaha. After purchase, a gradual change in the color of
the finish will take place over time. The color will gradually turn to a deep golden brown while the tone of the shell
becomes richer with a wider dynamic range and longer sustain.
The amount of time involved for this transition to take place will vary between each shell. Because no two pieces
of wood are the same, grain and color variations of the shell will be present. The environment in which the drums
are used and kept will have an effect on the changes that take place. Ultra-violet light and temperature will effect
the rate of time it takes for the finish to mature. Exposure to the sun will shorten the time to maturity.
Your drum set may have drums that are at different stages of this process i.e., one lighter, one darker. However,
they will eventually become the same golden brown finish {again, no two pieces of wood are the same so there
may be some variation among the shells).
Please understand that this process will take about 6 months to complete so use and enjoy your drums with that
in mind.

Merci d’avoir fait l’acquisition d’une batterie Yamaha. Nous aimerions vous fournir quelques explications sur le
vernis Yamaha Vintage Finish (repris dans le catalogue comme “Vintage (YN)“) utilisé dans la conception de
cette batterie.
Le Vintage Finish est un vernis pour finition original mis au point par Yamaha. Après l’achat de la batterie, la
teinte de la finition changera progressivement avec le temps. Elle se transformera peu à peu en un brun doré
profond et la tonalité du fût deviendra plus riche, avec une plage dynamique plus étendue et un sustain plus
prolongé.
Le temps nécessaire à cette transition varie en fonction de chaque fût. Etant donné qu’il n’y a pas deux mor­
ceaux de bois identiques, les variations du grain et de la couleur du fût seront uniques. Lenvironnement dans
lequel le fût est utilisé et rangé affectera également les modifications qui prendront plaoe. Une exposition au
soleil raccourcira le délai d’arrivée à maturité.
Votre batterie peut se composer de fûts qui se trouvent à des stades différents de cette procédure, c’est-à-dire
qu’un peut être plus clair et l’autre plus foncé mais ils finiront par avoir !a même finition brun doré (bien qu’il
n'existe pas deux morceaux de bois identiques èt certaines variations peuvent subsister malgré tout).
Lensemble de la procédure prend environ six mois et nous vous suggérons d'utiliser et d'apprécier votre batte­
rie en tenant compte de cette caractéristique.

Vielen Dank für den Erwerb von Yamaha-Trommeln. Wir möchten Ihnen gerne etwas über das Vintage-Finish
berichten (im Katalog aufgeführt als "Vintage (VN)"), das bei diesen Trommeln angewendet wurde.
Das Vintage-Finish ist eine Spezialentwicklung von Yamaha. Einige Zeit nach dem Kauf tritt eine allmähliche
Verfärbung des Finish ein. Die Farbe ändert sich langsam zu einem tiefen Goldbraun, während gleichzeitig der
Klang voller und dynamischer wird und auch ein längeres Sustain erhält.
Die Zeit, in der diese Veränderungen passieren, variiert für jede einzelne Trommel, Da keine zwei Holzteile
absolut gleich sind, kommt es je nach Maserung zu verschiedenen Farbvariationen der Oberfläche. Der Anteil
dieser Verfärbungen hängt vor allem von der Umgebung ab, in die Trommeln gespielt bzw. aufbewahrt werden.
Ultraviolettes Licht und die Umgebungstemperatur beeinflussen die Zeit, Ober die sich das Finish ändert. Son­
nenlicht verkürzt diese Zeit.
Es kann sein, daß sich die Trommeln Ihres Schlagzeug-Sets in verschiedenen Zuständen dieses Prozesses
befinden, die eine etwas heller, andere dunkler usw. Sehr wahrscheinlich ist es aber, daß alle Trommeln zum
Schluß das gleiche, goldbraune Finish besitzen (durch Unterschiede in der Holzqualität können trotzdem Varia­
tionen bleiben).
Bitte bedenken Sie, daß dieser Vorgang etwa 6 Monate dauert. Spielen und erfreuen Sie sich an diesen Instru­
menten, ohne sich von diesen Effekten verunsichern zu lassenl

El acabado Vintage es un acabado original creado por Yamaha. Después de la compra, con el tiempo se
produce un cambio gradual del color de! acabado. El color cambia gradualmente a marrón dorado, mientras el
sonido del se hace más rico con una gama dinámica más amplia y un sostenido más largo.
La cantidad de tiempo necesario para esta transición varía entre cada casco. Puesto que no hay dos piezas de
madera que sean iguales, existirán variacienes en el grano y el color entre los cascos. El ambiente en que se
utilice y guarde la batería influirá sobre los cambios que se produzcan. La luz ultravioleta y la temperatura
afectarán al tiempo que tarda en madurar el acabado. La exposición al sol acelerará el preceso.
En su batería puede haber timbales en estados diferentes dentro de este proceso, es decir, uno más claro, uno
más oscuro. Sin embargo, al final ambos adquirirán el mismo acabado marrón dorado (de nuevo, no hay dos
piezas de madera iguales, por lo que puede haber alguna variación entre las cajas).
Tenga en cuenta que este proceso requiere unos 6 meses para cempleíarse. Por lo tanto, utilice y disfrute de su
batería con esto en la mente.

Vintage Finish (indicata sul cataloge come „Vintage (VN)“) impiegata su queste batterie.
La Vintage Finish è una vernice per finitura prodotta con una formula originale Yamaha. Dopo l’acquisto, si
verificherà nel tempo un graduale cambiamento di colore nella finitura. Il colore assumerà gradualmente una
gradazione marrone dorato intensa, mentre la tonalità della cassa diventerà più ricca con una gamma dinamica
più ampia e un sustain più prolungato.
Il tempo richiesto per questa trasformazione varia da una cassa all’altra. Poiché non esistono in natura due
pezzi di legno uguali, le casse presenteranno venature diverse e variazioni dì colore. L’ambiente in cui verrà
usata e conservata la batteria influirà su questi cambiamenti. La luce ultravioletta e la temperatura influiranno
sul tempo di maturazione della vernice di finitura. Lesposizione alla luce solare accorcerà questo tempo.
La batteria che avete acquistato potrebbe essere composta da tamburi che si trovano in fasi diverse di questo
processo, ossia uno più chiaro, uno più scuro.Tuttavia, alla fine tutti i tamburi assumeranno la stessa finitura
marrone dorata (ripetiamo che non esistono in natura due pezzi di legno uguali, pertanto potrebbero esserci
alcune variazioni tra una cassa e l’altra).
Durante l'uso della batteria, ricordate che questo processo richiederà circa 6 mesi per completarsi.
