FEATURES AND CONTROLS

Gear Selector

The transmission gear selector (1) is located on

the console to the right of the steering wheel.

The RANGER 2x4, 4x4 and 6x6 have four

shift positions (2):
H: High Gear

L: Low Gear

N: Neutral

R: Reverse
The RANGER TM has three shift positions (3):
H: High Gear

N: Neutral

R: Reverse
NOTE: Low is the primary driving range

for the RANGER 2x4, 4x4 and 6x6. High

is intended for use on hard-packed surfaces

with light loads.
To change gears, stop the vehicle and

with the engine idling, move the lever to

the desired gear. Do not attempt to shift

gears with engine speed above idle or

while the vehicle is moving.
Always place the transmission in gear with the

parking brake locked whenever the vehicle is

left unattended.
Maintaining shift linkage adjustment is

important to assure proper transmission

function. See your dealer if you experience any

shifting problems.

Do not attempt to shift the transmission while the vehicle is

moving or damage to the transmission could result.
Always place the transmission in gear with the parking brake

applied and turn the vehicle off whenever the vehicle is left

unattended.
