Top Convection Deflector

Install the top convection deflector as shown to
the right.

The deflector is shipped on top of the insert.
The screws are shipped inside the owner's pack.

Fireplace Requirements

Insert must be placed within a code-conforming masonry fireplace or tested and listed factory-
built (metal) wood-burning fireplace. Repair any fireplace damage prior to installation.

Because the insert uses a circulation blower, clean the fireplace, smoke shelf, and chimney
prior to installation.

This heater may be placed in a bedroom. Please be aware of the large amount of heat this
appliance produces when determining a location.

The DVL inserts 14-1/2" into the

fireplace.

Min. 31-1/2" - additional space may be required for gas line installation.

For tight fits (under 28"), see the section "Removing the Vent Connector"

on leveling the heater.

The gas line and shutoff

valve should be installed

prior to insert placement.

Attach the "This fireplace has been altered..." plate

to the fireplace (use two screws or other suitable

method). You may wish to place it in a location

where it will be covered by the surround panels.
