Importing jobs

Import a saved jobs file.

Considerations

You can use the GUI or the CLUI set server command to import jobs.

GUI Procedure

1.

Select File

→Import RSM Job(s).

2.

Enter the full path and file name of the jobs file to import.

3.

Click OK.

CLUI Procedure

1.

Open a CLUI window.

2.

Issue a set server command with the import path=path/filename option.

Importing legacy jobs

Importing overview

Import an HP P6000 Business Copy legacy job into the replication manager.

Considerations

You can only use the GUI to import a legacy job.

Procedure

1.

Locate and prepare legacy job files for importing. See

Preparing to Import

.

2.

Using a text editor, open the legacy job that you want to import. Select and copy the legacy
job lines.

3.

In the replication manager, start a new job. See

Creating jobs

.

4.

In the Create Job window, click Import.

The Import Business Copy Legacy Job window opens.

5.

Press CTRL+V to paste the captured legacy job lines.

6.

Click Import.

The importing window closes. The legacy job is imported and appears in the Create Job
window.

7.

Review the imported job and edit as necessary. See

8.

Validate and save the job.

Preparing to import

Determine the management servers in your environment on which HP Business Copy EVA 2.X is
installed. For each of these servers, perform the following procedure.

Procedure

1.

Log on to the management server.

2.

Navigate to the directory: C:\Program Files\Compaq\SANworks\Enterprise Volume
Manager\bin\Jobs

3.

Select files with the extension .evm. These are the job files. Do not select the files named
sample job.evm

and Scheduler.evm.

4.

Copy the files to a location that is readily available to you when using the replication manager.
You will need to open each job file in a job editor while using the Create Job window.
